Eye problems are frequently seen in pets. Some can be dealt with within a consultation, but many will require a lot of further investiagtion and treatment. Gareth has had an interest in eye cases for over ten years. In 2010 he acheived a further qualification in ophthalmology (GPCertOphthal) and since has been seeing eye cases for vets from other local practices as well as within Witten Lodge. Witten Lodge has also invested heavily in ophthalmic equipment to allow a high level of diagnostic tests and treatments to be carried out.

At Witten we can deal with the simplest conjunctivitis to demnanding corneal surgery cases, from a Pug with turned in eyelids to a cat with a hole in its cornea. We can also screen for progressive diseases such as gluacoma and dry eye. Should anything need even more specialist treatment Gareth has a close working relationship specialist practices and can arrange pre and post op treatment for cases such as cataract removal.
