Ophthamology Referals at Atlantic Eye Clinic
Eye problems are frequently seen in pets. Some can be dealt with within a consultation, but many will require a lot of further investigation and treatment. Gareth has had an interest in eye cases for over ten years. In 2010 he acheived a further qualification in ophthalmology (GPCertOphthal) and since has been seeing eye cases for vets from other local practices as well as within our practice. Witten Lodge has also invested heavily in ophthalmic equipment such as an operating microscope and slit lamp to allow a high level of diagnostic tests and treatments to be carried out.
We see a lot of animals with eye problems at Witten Lodge – from simple conjunctivitis cases to those that require corneal surgery. We are also able to screen animals for progressive conditions such as glaucoma and dry eye, and provide treatment where necessary to the very highest standards.
Please note: If you are registered with another practice, but you are concerned about your companion’s eye health, please speak with your vet. Unfortunately we are not able to accept walk-in referral patients, but referrals from other practices are more than welcome.
